Color Challenge #5

August 2, 2010 in Color Challenges by Alison

Hello and welcome to the fifth Color Challenge with Friends Having Fun! The Kaleidoscope Krew have another fabulous set of colors to share with you, as well as some awesome projects to go with them! Here are the colors!

Image

When I first picked these colors, I was inspired by thoughts of Summer and vacations. Walking on the beach on a tropical island at sunset… but that’s me! What do these colors make YOU think of? What kind of project can YOU make with these bright and fun colors? Need some inspiration? Let’s take a look at what the Kaleidoscope Krew (sans Alyssa who wasn’t able to play along this month…miss ya, Babe!) came up with this month!

You can get all of the details on the Krew’s projects by visiting our blogs. Just click on our names! Laura is having some computer issues, and her post will be up a little late.

So, now it’s your turn now! Get creating! Remember, you have the whole month to play along! And you can make anything! A scrapbook page, a card, altered art, jewelry…the sky’s the limit! Don’t go too crazy with using the exact shades, just make ‘em as close as you can. Have fun! We can’t wait to see what you create!!!

It’s Christmas in July

July 19, 2010 in Recipe Challenges by Rebecca Grohall

Here at Friends Having Fun, its never too early to start your holiday cards.  And while the theme is “Christmas in July” this challenge is for any winter holiday:  it can be Christmas, Hanukah, Festivus, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, etc.

Theme: “Christmas in July”

- make a holiday card or scrapbook page (you can choose any wintery holiday: Christmas, Hanukah, Festivus, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, etc.)
- make your card long and narrow to fit a business sized envelope (4 1/8 in x 9 ½ in). An easy dimension is to cut your 8.5 x 11 cardstock to 8 in by 9 in and score the long way down the middle (yields a folded card size of 4 x 9). If you are scrabooking, one of the elements in your layout should be this size.
- incorporate your favorite technique.

As an optional element/ingredient:   theme it something “holiday” in your home state or country. For example, I’m in Florida …. a Christmas theme may include the beach like theme like a surfin’ santa, a sea shell christmas tree, etc.

The cooks rocked this challenge!

Margie:

Stay tuned! We will be announcing the new additions to our Recipe DT this week! :)

We cannot wait to see what you will cook up for us!

Enjoy!
